Mye

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Mye was adopted and moved to Canada at 10 days old, where she grew up on a 500-acre ranch in the interior of BC. Her life on the ranch was enriched by the outdoors, many animals, a close farming community and neighbours, as well as many extreme challenges thrown at her and her family by mother nature.

Mye has had a love of music from a very young age and was especially intrigued by the lyrics and the story-telling aspect of songs. It wasn’t until grade 9, however, that she was introduced to an influential voice coach and started to blossom in confidence as a singer in her own right.

Life on the ranch nurtured her desire for storytelling and it sparked an interest in one day being able to write her own songs. Mye, however, struggled with reading and writing due to both a vision problem and dyslexia. It wasn’t until she completed vision therapy that she began to get some confidence in her writing skills. After moving to Vancouver Island, and completing grade 12 English with a very talented teacher, Mye had the confidence and tools to start writing her own songs. Her natural talent on the guitar and ear for music completes the circle for her beautifully written, organic songs that tell the stories of her past 2 years.

Her first album, “Sandbox”, proves to be a heartfelt mix that will tug at your heart and then lift you up.
